Congrats to Patrice Painchaud for guessing the correct sire, Motroen-P! The dam was a R&W Holstein sired by Ace-Red. There were many good guesses. I assumed a few of you would guess Milking Shorthorn or Lineback.
For the bonus points for correctly guessing the right sire, I’ll post some pics of all the calves. The last 12 calves that I’ve kept are crossbred or Jersey and I doubt that I’ll keep another pure Holstein calf.
I assume my dog isn’t the only dog that likes a free scratching! This is the youngest calf mentioned below.
Starting with the youngest calf behind the dogs tail of the dog and going right to the older calves. All are out of pure Holstein cows. Tosikko x Oman, Motroen x Die Hard, Ruud x Michael, Motroen x Matrix-Red, Redondo x Mason.
Starting with the black calf in front of the hydrant all are out of pure Holstein cows unless noted. Freddie x B Jurist HoJo, Checkpoint (Kiwi) x Toystory, Motroen x Ace, pure Jersey sired by Nirvana (head out of hutch), Ruud x Tres, Urbaniste x Landlord, Urbaniste x HoJo (head in hutch), and the last pure Holstein Popcorn x Potter (not out).
